How to Introduce A New Technology to Your People in an Efficient Way

It is a fact that any change in the organization will cause some questions and apprehensions among employees as to the nature of the change and how they will be affected with it. Managing change carefully is very crucial, whether it is on adopting a new technology or transferring location of your operation. There is a risk of alienating your people and possible resignations if you do the changes too fast. But if do it too slowly also, you have the higher chances of not seeing the results sooner. An example of change is a move to the clouds wherein employees might get skeptical if the new technology might take their jobs or they might be replaced with automation. It is thus important that you take some steps to ensure that employees are confident about the change, that they are excited about it and at the same time you get the benefits you want within the time you set.

The number one step when you want to introduce change in your company is to announce your plans as soon as you have all details done. It is better that you introduce the change soon enough and get to answer their hows and whys, rather than you spring on to them this new development like a big surprise. Your plan may still be on the drawing board but it would be good to mention it to your employees and let them think about it and possibly open up for suggestions and questions that would affect the change.

The second pointer in order for your employees adjust to the new change is to ask for their opinions about the process. Sometimes you will not get any feedback at all but at least you are treating the change with sensitivity on the side of the employees and reassure them. Maybe you have new employees who had experiences with the cloud environment and so you can get ideas from them or use their experiences as examples.

Remember that people get easily worried about their jobs when change comes into the picture, and so your next move is to reassure them of their job safety. There are many talks in the media how digital tools can replace human jobs, and knowing this, your people will start to worry if this will happen to them once you implement a new technology in your company.

It is also very important that you tell your people of the benefits they will get once the new technology will be running in the company.
